About Our Pastors

Picture
Pastors Daniel and Connie Ong have been missionaries for more than 25 years. They have pastored and planted churches for Victory Family Center, Singapore (www.vfc.org). They have also planted churches in India, Scotland, East Malaysia and Japan. They were the Pastors of Victory Christian Center in Urayasu, Japan for seven years (www.vccjapan.org). After leaving Japan, they were sent by Elim Church Singapore (www.elimchurch.org.sg) to plant a work in Ghana.

They stayed in Ghana for eleven years and were involved in planting local churches and ministries. During their last six years in Ghana, they planted and were the pastors of Elim International Family church in Accra, Ghana (www.elimchurchghana.org). Elim International Family church has sent them to Renton, Washington to plant a likeminded church. They know God has called them to plant a church where people from every tribe, nation and culture will come together and glorify God. Pastors Daniel and Connie have a vision to raise up workers for the harvest field.

Church DNA

1. Evangelism and Personal Discipleship:
We believe in and practice the Great Commission: “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” (Matthew 28:19-20). We believe that to make disciples, you must first lead people to Christ, that
is why ICC is committed to evangelism, and not just ‘fishing from the pond’ (I.E. recruiting Christians from other churches). Creating disciples does not end at conversion, that is why we believe that it is our duty as a church to instruct, lead, and mentor new Christians to help them mature in their faith.

2. LIFE Groups:
LIFE stands for Love, Instruction, Fellowship, and Evangelism. These small groups are the backbone of our church, they are where we identify leaders and raise people up according to their giftings.

3. Prayer and Spirit-Led Worship:
Prayer and worship are all about fellowship with God. Prayer is the weapon that we use to accomplish our God inspired vision. We believe that worship is not singing to entertain people, instead we strive to please God with new songs, while leading others to a closer presence with Him.

4. Giving & Tithing:
We believe that God commands us to tithe (the giving of 10% of our income to God). We also believe that God wants us to give above the tithe to help stretch our faith. While we don’t give in order to receive personal financial blessing, we do believe that God will bless us if we give faithfully (See Malachi 3:10-12)

5. Ministry of the Word:Our pastors are students of the Word of God. They study to show themselves approved of God rightly dividing the Word of Truth (see II Timothy 2:15). They share the Word knowing that faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God.

6. Missions & Mission Faith Pledge:
ICC is a mission minded Church. We believe in raising up, training, sending out, and supporting missionaries from our church. We are able to support our missionaries through the ‘Mission Faith Pledge’, a pledged offering from church members to support our missionaries on a monthly basis.

7. Vision, Faith and Self-Supporting:
We believe every resource for the work of God to continue is within the people of God. We believe that God has given our church a vision and that through teaching, every member will be able to walk and run together with that vision. We want our members to be able to explain to anybody who may want to know about our vision.

8. Strong leadership, Team Ministry, and Lay Leaders:
Through LIFE groups we help train up leaders to be strong and courageous in serving in what God has called them to do. In addition, we believe that the lay people can serve God and the ministry is not only for full time pastors. In whatever position they hold we can serve God together.

Extended Beliefs

1. The Scriptures are Inspired by God and declare His design and plan for mankind.

2. There is only One True God–revealed in three persons...Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (commonly known as the Trinity).

3. In the Deity of the Lord Jesus Christ; as God's Son Jesus was both human and Divine.

4. Though originally good, man willingly fell to sin, ushering evil and death, both physical and spiritual, into the world.

5. Every person can have restored fellowship with God through the acceptance of Christ's offer to forgive our sins (commonly known as 'salvation').

6. There are two holy ordinances, both which we practice—(1) Water baptism by immersion after repenting of one's sins and receiving Christ's gift of salvation, and (2) Holy Communion (the Lord's Supper) as a symbolic remembrance of Christ's suffering and death for our salvation.

7. The baptism in the Holy Spirit is a special experience following salvation that empowers believers for witnessing and effective service, just as it did in New Testament times.

8. The initial physical evidence of the baptism in the Holy Spirit is ‘speaking in tongues,’ as experienced on the Day of Pentecost and referenced throughout Acts and the epistles.

9. Sanctification initially occurs at the time of salvation and is not only a declaration that a believer is holy, but also a progressive lifelong process of separating from evil as believers continually draw closer to God and become more Christ-like.

10. The Church has a mission to seek and save all who are lost in sin. We believe 'the Church' is the body of Christ and consists of the people who, throughout time, have accepted God's offer of redemption (regardless of religious denomination) through the sacrificial death of His Son Jesus Christ.

11. A divinely called and scripturally ordained leadership ministry serves the church. The Bible teaches that each of us under leadership must commit ourselves to reach others for Christ, to worship Him with other believers, and to build up or edify the body of believers–the Church.

12. Divine healing of the sick is a privilege for Christians today and is provided for in Christ's atonement (His sacrificial death on the cross for our sins).

13. The Blessed Hope—when Jesus raptures His Church prior to His return to earth (the second coming). At this future moment in time all believers who have died will rise from their graves and will meet the Lord in the air, and Christians who are alive will be caught up with them, to be with the Lord forever.

14. The millennial reign of Christ when Jesus returns with His saints at His second coming and begins His benevolent rule over earth for 1,000 years. This millennial reign will bring the salvation of the nation of Israel and the establishment of universal peace.

15. A final judgment will take place for those who have rejected Christ. They will be judged for their sin and consigned to eternal punishment in a never ending lake of fire.

16. There will be a perfect new heavens and a new earth that Christ is preparing for all people, of all time, who have accepted Him. We will live and dwell with Him there forever following His millennial reign on earth. We look forward to this time, 'and so shall we forever be with the Lord!'
